Enjoyed our stay at the Grand Chancellor Hotel Townsville great view from the pool on top of the roof. The lack of a onsite parking was a bit of a disappointment. Excellent buffet breakfast.
I had the pleasure of staying there for a week and a half whilst doing some work in Townsville. A seventies style hotel that was apparently the Holiday Inn at some stage in its past that hasn't lost its charm. I found from the moment I walked in and spoke to the staff at reception everything to be smooth and professional. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. The rooms were clean, well presented and serviced daily. The restaurant on the first floor prepared very good meals breakfast, lunch and dinner with the breakfast getting a special mention for being well priced and eat as much as you like. There are laundry facilities on the eighth floor with a pool on the roof that gives 360 views of Townsville. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're passing through.
Very nice hotel with lovely rooms. The sugar shaker bar and lounge has a nice relaxing atmosphere and the buffet is delicious.Parking is a huge issue, especially if there is an event occurring and the streets are blocked. As you don't receive any advice from the staff prior to your stay.
Hotel room recently renovated nicely.It used to be the Holiday inn.The view from the room and balcony are lovely especially the ones facing the water.The healthy salad bowls were nice and refreshing, however it was expensive $20+ for 1. you will need to order more food to fill you up.I would like to give 5 stars to the family friendly roof top pool.
